Thought:

I could not focus on any one quote for this week’s devotional so I am including several from the book, Treasures of Silver, by Jo Petty. The book was given to me by a friend when I graduated from Texas A & M University back in 1977.  Treasures of Silver is a compilation of quotes from various sources, many of unknown origin. The book is divided up into chapters about love, joy, patience, meekness, goodness and inner peace.

Read over these quotes.  Then think about whether or not you could use them to inspire your creativity. I would love to hear from anyone that uses these quotes possibly by changing the words to fit their actual situation, posting one of the quotes on the refrigerator, using a quote as a personal mantra for the day, etc.

“Sow a Thought and you reap an Act;
Sow an Act and you reap a Habit;
Sow a Habit and you reap a Character;
Sow a Character and you reap a Destiny.”

“The blue of heaven is larger than the clouds.”

“May I not pass this day in search of some rare and perfect tomorrow.”

“There is no failure save in giving up.”

“Mastery in any art comes only with long practice.”

“Habit is a cable; we weave a thread of it everyday; and at last we cannot break it.”

“A man shows what he is by what he does with what he has.”

“Many of the things that go wrong surprise us by turning out all right.”

“Resolve to be better for the echo of it.”

“My part is to improve the present moment.”

“God will supply, but we must apply.”

“My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

“In all your ways acknowledge God, and He shall direct your paths.”

“Do the very best you can and leave the outcome to God.”

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

You are my refuge. You are my source of inspiration, creativity, love, joy, peace, and serenity.  Thank you for all the quotes above and the authors that wrote them. Let the ones that read these quotes benefit from the words.

Thank you for listening to me when I doubt my abilities. Thank you for comforting me when I think I have failed you. Thank you for all the many blessings you have bestowed upon me. Help me to use those blessings in doing Thy will.  Let my creative work be a source of inspiration for others.

In Christ’s name. Amen
