First Light

“In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice, in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.”

Psalm 5:3

Thought:

The scripture above is the memory verse for Chapter 2 of The Creative Call by Janice Elsheimer.  Placing the scripture in this week’s devotional seemed to be the thing to do.  Since I write in a journal almost every morning I can say that I understand this scripture. 

When I am writing I usually end up writing a prayer asking for guidance of some sort.  Much of my prayers are about my creativity and the direction I need to be heading.  I end my prayers with great anticipation as I wait for answers.  I am not too sure how good I am at waiting. 

I sometimes wish God could answer me with a billboard on the highway or a plane skywriting overhead. That hasn’t happened yet but I am definitely waiting in expectation.

Prayer:

Lord,

Thank you for being there for us. Thank you for listening to our voices. Help us to be patient as we wait for your answers.  Help us to recognize those answers when they come. In Christ’s name. Amen.
